Italian Neorealism focused on the issues of the common man, rather than the revolution at hand. The films were often made with unexperienced actors with little to no budget. Neorealism gave a different perspective of the common man after the events of World War II.

French New Wave rejected the standard linear style of storytelling and created a new kind of language on it's own. It came around during Hollywood's Golden age going against what it stood for. French New wave is still changing the way we think of cinema today.
